Booking a school field trip bus in Ontario is more paperwork than it should be. This guide walks you through what your school board will actually ask for — and how to lock in a bus that meets the bar.
What your school board wants on file
- Certificate of Insurance naming the school board as additional insured ($5M minimum)
- MTO operating authority on the carrier
- Vulnerable-sector check on the assigned driver
- WSIB clearance certificate
- Signed transportation contract on letterhead
We can deliver all five within 24 hours of booking confirmation. Just tell us your school board name when you request a quote.
Timing your booking
May, June and September are peak field-trip months. Book 4–6 weeks out for those months. October–April you can usually book inside two weeks.
Accessibility considerations
Wheelchair-accessible coaches need 7–10 days lead time. Be specific about mobility devices when requesting the quote (manual wheelchair, power chair, scooter) — the lift specs differ.
