The Grade 8 Ottawa Trip: A Charter Bus Planning Guide

The Grade 8 Ottawa trip is a rite of passage for Ontario students. It's also a logistical beast. Here's how to run it cleanly.

Day 1 — Toronto to Ottawa

Depart Toronto 7 AM. Rest stop in Kingston around 10:30 AM (Fort Henry photo op if time allows). Arrive Ottawa 1 PM. Lunch in ByWard Market. Afternoon Parliament Hill tour. Hotel check-in by 5 PM.

Day 2 — Museums & monuments

Canadian Museum of History, lunch, then Canadian War Museum or Museum of Nature. Evening Sound and Light show on Parliament Hill (summer).

Day 3 — Return via 1000 Islands

Morning at Rideau Canal or RCMP Musical Ride if scheduled. Depart by noon. Rest stop in Gananoque/1000 Islands. Arrive Toronto by 7 PM.

Budget

3-day Grade 8 Ottawa charter packages run $4,250–$6,800 depending on coach size and route. Doesn't include hotel, meals or attraction admissions — those are typically billed separately by your trip coordinator.
